Lachung is well-connected by road from Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim. Tourists can hire taxis or take shared cabs from Gangtok, which is about 118 km away and takes around 5-6 hours via NH310. The road passes through scenic landscapes, waterfalls, and mountain valleys, making the journey itself a memorable experience.


By Rail:

There is no direct railway station in Lachung. The nearest major railway station is New Jalpaiguri (NJP) in Siliguri, West Bengal, around 150 km from Lachung. From NJP, travellers can hire a taxi or take a bus to Gangtok and then continue to Lachung by road. This is a preferred route for those coming from other parts of India by train.
